Starmount is holding a VBS program August 8-11, 9am – noon. VBS is open to all children ages 3* – 5th grade. (*Must be potty-trained.) This year’s theme is Jungle Safari! The kids will break into smaller groups for music, games and crafts as they learn Bible studies to better understand “The Nature of God”. Click here for a VBS Registration 2016 form that can be turned into the church office. And if you’d like to help out, click here for the VBS Volunteer Registration form.
Breakfast on the Playground
Families with young children are encouraged to gather at the Starmount playground for scheduled family fellowship. Children have a chance to run around and play while building deep-lasting friendships. Parents can enjoy a cup of coffee and each other. The event goes on – rain or shine! – either on the playground off of Ashland Drive or in the Preschool’s Rainy Day Room.
F3: Food, Families, and Faith
Participants gather for a good ol’ fashioned covered dish dinner and program on the first Sunday of the month in the Fall (October, November, December 2015) and again in the Spring (April, May, June 2016). People can enjoy conversation over dinner and then participate in an intergenerational activity or learning opportunity.
This multi-week series occurs in the fall and spring. It is a time for people to gather and share a meal and enrich an aspect of their lives. Programs have included group guitar lessons, bible study, computer training, featured speakers, and adult education. Each year the Fellowship Committee and Staff members collaborate on new and exciting ideas for each Wonderful Wednesday series.
All-Church Retreat to Montreat
Every Fall, members of the Starmount Family and their friends make the trip to the Montreat Conference Center in Montreat, North Carolina. Retreat participants are encouraged to reflect on and deepen their faith while enjoying the beauty of the mountains. It is a great weekend of reflection, fellowship, and fun! (For pictures from this year’s retreat, click here.)
Children are invited for regularly scheduled events that revolve around the theme of an upcoming holiday or season. Events such as Advent Workshop, Valentine’s Workshop, and Summer Vacation Bible School allow children time to play games, do crafts and enjoy fellowship while growing closer to God in the process.
