The Chancel Choir’s focus is on singing quality, inspirational music, primarily four-part singing, to be accompanied by a variety of instruments including organ, piano, and orchestra. The Chancel Choir assists in leading worship from the choir loft every Sunday.
Thursdays: Rehearsal from 7:00 – 8:30 p.m.
Sundays: Rehearsal from 9:15 – 9:50 a.m. (with participation in the worship service from 10-11)
Dates: August through May
Ages: high school through adult
Starmount Ringers is a handbell choir of all ages and abilities, meeting weekly for practice from September through May. The number of choirs is dependent on the number of participants and their abilities. No previous handbell experience is necessary, but bell choir members have to have some ability to read music.
Youth Ringers: Rehearsals on Sundays from 11:10 – 11:55 a.m.
Thursday Ringers: Rehearsals on Thursdays from 6:00 – 6:45 p.m.
Starmount Ringers will assist in leading worship on scheduled Sundays.
The Children’s Choir is open to all children ages 3 to 5th grade. Choir participants rehearse for 20 minutes following worship on most Sundays. Depending on participation, the number of choirs will be determined based on age and ability. The Children’s Choir will assist in leading worship regularly, based upon worship needs.
Sundays: 20 minute rehearsal following worship most Sundays, 11:10 a.m.
Dates: September through May
Ages: 3 years – 5th grade
The Summer Choir assists in leading worship from the choir loft during a number of Sundays in the summer months. The Summer Choir focuses on anthems which require less rehearsal and are ideal for those people who want to try singing in the choir or are unable to commit to the weekly rehearsals of the Chancel Choir during the program year.
Sundays: Rehearsal from 9:15-9:50 a.m. (with participation in the worship service from 10-11)
Dates: Specifically-scheduled Sundays during the summer months
Ages: 6th grade – adult
