Below are ways you can connect with others at Starmount to grow in faith and love:
Since Starmount Presbyterian Church started in the 1950s, Presbyterian Women (PW) has been an integral part of the life of the church. The women participated in Circles for fellowship, Bible study and mission activities. They supported grieving families by providing meals, funeral receptions and memorial gifts. They went on yearly retreats to Montreat for enrichment and renewal. They served countless lunches at Higher Ground. They decorated the church for holidays. They supported local and world-wide non-profit agencies with financial gifts. In short, they loved and nurtured each other, the church, and the world in many ways.
As the makeup of our church is changing, we strive to align our programs to be relevant, viable, inclusive, supportive of women and our church. To that end, we have created this survey
for all adult female members of Starmount Presbyterian to discern how we continue to grow and be useful to all the women in our congregation. Please take a few minutes to think about, pray about and respond to the following no later than August 27, 2021. Click here to complete your survey online
or pick up a hard copy at the church and drop it in church workroom PW mailbox. Copies of this survey will be in the Gathering Space and on the Welcome Desk.

This fellowship opportunity seeks to join the church around the reading and discussion of a common book. Some of the recent books we’ve read together are Trevor Noah’s Born a Crime
, Lisa Wingate’s Before We Were Yours
by Tara Westover. Extra copies of the selected book are available in the library. To comply with social distancing guidelines, One Church, One Book now meets on Zoom or outdoors when weather permits. Email Mary Jane Conger, our librarian, at email@example.com to join her mailing list for this group.
All who wish gather at a local restaurant for lunch immediately following worship are invited to Just Lunch. A selected Starmount member serves as host each month, selecting the restaurant where everyone will pay their own way and enjoy fellowship with one another over the meal.
Groups are formed for monthly gatherings based on interest. It is a way of getting to know others in the church family while breaking bread together.
Seasonal Fellowship Events
Our Fellowship Committee is always planning fun gatherings for members of our church and their families. Our annual favorites include Starmount’s Got Talent, Mystery Dinner Theater, summer pool parties, church picnics and other special dinners.
