The Starmount Community Garden was founded in May 2009 on the edge of Starmount’s property, adjacent to the parking lot. This 10-row, 20′ x 4′ vegetable garden is open to all who want to help feed the hungry of Greensboro. Currently the garden is divided into plots that certain families have committed to plant and tend. They can keep a portion of their harvest and share the rest with Share the Harvest, an agency formed by 5 church community gardens. We distribute our combined harvests, along with donations from local gardeners, farms, and the A&T Farm, to agencies that either prepare a meal for the hungry or have a food pantry in Guilford County. If you are interested in “renting” a plot in our garden, please email Linda Anderson at email@example.com.
