Community Garden
The Starmount Community Garden was founded in May 2009 on the edge of Starmount’s property, adjacent to the parking lot. This 12-plot vegetable garden is open to all who want to help feed the hungry of Greensboro. Currently the garden is divided into plots that certain families have leased to plant and tend. They agree to donate a portion of their crop to Share the Harvest, a non-profit agency originally formed by 5 church community gardens. Share the Harvest distributes our combined harvests, along with donations from local gardeners, farms, and the A&T Farm, to agencies that either prepare a meal for the hungry or have a food pantry in Guilford County. If you are interested in “renting” a plot in our garden, please email Libbi Gundaker at elgundaker@hotmail.com.
