Starmount established a tutoring program in 2018 to support refugee families in the church. Volunteers organized transportation, tutoring help and dinner for students each Wednesday during the school year. The program helps students of all ages with homework and extra practice of concepts that they are having difficulty with.
Our tutoring program has been on hiatus since March of 2020, but we have kept in touch with the families to ensure that they have the tools they need for distance learning. The program is currently establishing a new schedule to coincide with Guilford County Schools reopening.
If you would like to participate in any way – financial support, laptop and supply donations, transportation help or to volunteer as a tutor during this difficult school year for students – please contact Laura Roberson at firstname.lastname@example.org.
